I bought this because I enjoyed the main 中級から学ぶ text, and figured this would be a good supplement, and it is, but... by the third page, it instructed me to listen to the cd, which doesn't come with the book. It's sold separately for ￥7,300, more than 3 times the cost of this book. So, I can't do a large percent of the text properly, and one third of the book is simply the script to the cd it doesn't have. I've bought lots of books that come with a cd for ￥2500 or so, so a package that costs near ￥10,000 doesn't feel that great.
I actually feel a bit ripped off. A text should come with the cd.
敢えて選ぶほどではない
中級の教材としては、長い間支持されているほうだと思うが、決して使い勝手のいい教材だとは言えない。
本文中に出てくる文型の練習として、「使いましょう」と言うのがあるが、あまりにもワンパターン化しすぎており、使えるというよりか、どれも意味理解どまりで終わってしまいそうである。
また、本文の内容自体もかなり（現場では）物議をかもし出しているものもあり、精読というより話題提起にとどめたほうがよいと思われるものが多い。
要は、“この教材をどう調理するか”は教師の力量にかかっているということなのかもしれないが…。
改訂版も出されたが、だからといって使いやすくなったというわけでもない。
最近、中級の教材もいろいろな物が出てきているので、これを敢えて選ぶ必要もなくなってきたかとおもう。
